Overview
Yixiu Alteration Service
Yi Xiu (Brisk) provides professional and comprehensive clothes alterations to coat, gown wear, pants, jeans, curtains and shirts at affordable pricing. They resize and mend coats, gowns, formal and party wear, dresses. skirts, jeans, trousers, suits and many more!
Understand their problems
- Lack of findability
- Don't have a CRM (Customer relationship management)
- Don't take full advantage of social media
- Don't really stand out to the market
Project Goal
My goal for this project is to design a better user experience through out the alteration process so that can boost up the business of the company

Understanding the market
Only 2 stores are running advertisement and appear on the top result and itās not even alteration (itās tailor actually)
Among the top 22 stores (including alteration and tailor service), there are about 17 stores have the link to their website or other social network such as Facebook or Instagram.

The Alteration Studio
Pros:
- They're the top result when I search alteration singapore
- They have listed all the important information in their website such as their services, price, live numbers of customer
- They have a clear, detailed navigation system in terms of Information Architecture
- They have photos of their actual work
- They have online booking function
Cons:
- Visual design is not their strong point

Insights
Thereās not a lot of alteration service website is functional enough to serve the customer. They still have to go to the store and do everything there.

User Persona
From the research, here is our user persona

āHow might weā statements
Problem Statement: How might we help Sam get her Blazer altered without she going to the shop?
Solution Statement:
- Be able to help the shop get all needed information to do alteration.
- Be able to collect/return Sam's clothes.
- Be able to allow Sam do everything online from booking to payment and receive the altered clothes.
Measurement of success: After she successfully get back her altered Blazer and feel happy

Heuristic evaluation
Here are some of my heuristic evaluation for Yi Xiu current website
#2 Match between system and the real world
Gallery doesn't show pictures of their works and it always navigates to their google photo
#8 Aesthetic and minimalist design
Space usage is not effective
Alignment can be improved
No hierarchy applied
Solution:
- Re-compose the website with appropriate information
- Refresh the brand color
- Add more functionalities such as booking appointment, alteration online, express services,...

Project Summary
Firstly, I want to send my thank for Mr.Kevin who was my instructor and helped me a lot through the project.
From this project, I learned how to improve my user experience research skills and I also have a chance to practice on my UI skill as well.
